NEW! Open to grades 1st-5th! *WE ARE ALL BEGINNERS and can learn in a multi-level environment! An orchestra learns and plays together. Bring your own violin! Students will learn how to follow a conductor while learning to play the violin using the top method in the world, the Suzuki method! Almost ALL symphony orchestra musicians are trained using this method, beginning as early as age 2, to reach the level of performing with a symphony. Students of Frederick Price will learn together and progress at their own rate in a differentiated learning environment within the violin class. Advanced students will learn to play not only the main melody lines, but will have the opportunity to show leadership and challenge themselves with learning harmony parts to enhance our sound. All students will experience an increase in self-confidence, self-discipline, gross and fine motor skills, as well as working together as a team as we start to build the Price School Orchestra. *We do have a limited amount of instruments for rent through our instrument library but those are distributed on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. Otherwise, string Instruments are not provided, but links to approved discounted instruments for rent or purchase will be sent with your Enrollment email after you have registered. Most 1st-2nd graders can use a 1/4 size violin. Most 3rd-4th graders can use a 1/2 size violin. Most 5th graders can use a 3/4 size violin. Students will be measured at the 1st class for their proper size. Nothing is needed at the 1st violin class. **Guitar students will need to order a guitar for their size/arm length. Most 1st-3rd graders can use a 1/2 size guitar. Most 4th and 5th graders can use a 3/4 size guitar.
